Speak and Listen

There will be times that people are not going to want to hear what you have to say, but your words should not annoy the people around you all the time. When you speak you should always have something fruitful to say. Your words should edify and bring life. Even words of correction will yield good fruit when properly stated. Negativity has no place in the mouth of a believer.

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

There will be times that you won’t feel like being a listening ear, but you should not ignore people or come off as rude just because you don’t feel like listening. You may be the key to their healing or their deliverance just by making yourself available.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Not only should you speak life, but you should listen and pray. Life is full of ups and downs, but God has a plan in everything. He uses people like you and me to shed a little light in the dark times. Be that voice which ministers grace. Be the ears that listen in the time of need. Be available and let God be glorified.

Monday Already?

We spend all week looking forward to the weekend. And when the weekend arrives, we don’t fully enjoy it because we are dreading the upcoming week and thinking about what happened throughout the last week. We have to learn to live in each moment and thank God for each minute. Enjoy the ever so dreaded Monday because it truly is a gift. You may be a little tired, and you may have a lot of work to do, but remember this:

The gift of “Monday” might not be a “fun day” but it is the “one day” that someone else did not wake up to see. Count your blessings and let’s get this week started off right!!
