What Season Are You In?

SPRINGIn the natural, we have stepped into a season of spring. What is meant to bloom every year has started greening. A little life is appearing in what looked seemed to be dead. Some are planting newness, which will need to be cultivated until it buds. That explains the natural transition, but in the spiritual realm, what season are you in? Is it your season to plant, to bloom, to shed off the old, or to rest in the winter cold and wait for your spring season to come around?

Ecc 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Know your season and know your purpose. If you plant in the winter, your seed will die. If you try to gather the harvest too early, it will die as well. Every purpose has a set time. Don’t rush and don’t move too late. Keep Seeking God and be productive in the kingdom!

Let Them Bark!

image

How many times have you walked down the street and dogs start barking as you are passing by? Key words “passing by.” You are going to face all sorts of adversity while you are headed towards your destination. People are going to talk about you, threaten you, laugh at you, and then some. But no worries! They are just dogs barking. Don’t waste your time throwing stones at them. Their barks might be loud, but they can’t stop you.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.

Imagine how crazy you would look walking down the street throwing stones at a dog that barked at you. In your Christian walk, you look real silly responding to every bit of nonsense thrown your way. If someone snaps at you, you snap back. If someone lies on you, you try to prove them wrong. If someone yells at you, you yell back. Stop wasting your time on people and things that serve no real purpose in your life, other then to slow you down or teach you self control.
Have you ever noticed that dogs only start barking while you are “passing by?” But once you leave their vicinity, they get silent again. You are not meant to hang out with the barking dogs. They are fenced in for a reason. The owner put them in the fence with the expectation that the dogs will stay in the fence. Some people have that fenced in mentality, and since they can’t go where you are going, they bark to keep you entertained and stuck with them. You have to keep moving in to what God has for you, and if you happen to pass up a few dogs along the way, LET THEM BARK!!

Can You Handle the Truth?

truth

Have you ever been around wrong for so long that you started to think it was right? Then, when you get around right, you stand out like a sore thumb. This is how Saints who are walking in error and deception are operating today. They find themselves in church hearing the truth which exposes the sin in their lives. After a while, they start justifying their sin and looking for excuses (or what we call gray areas) to continue to do the things they were doing. Eventually, they will have convinced themselves that their way of living is right and everything else is wrong.

Prov 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

OK, I hear you saying right and wrong, but according to who? According to the word of God. The word of God is truth and it is the only thing you can measure your life against without prejudice. The word of God will remain the same no matter what you are facing or how you view the situation.

For example, we tend to decide how we are going to respond according to the situation and not according to the word. We somehow feel justified in going off when it comes to our money and our children. But, we can let it go when it is dealing with something we consider trivial. Wrong Answer!! You still have to love, forgive, be slow to anger, speak truth in love, tell the truth, have peace and joy no matter what.  The word of God does not change! Who told you it was ok to act a certain way because your situation is just a little different. Everyone thinks their situation is an exception to the rule. God still frowns upon divorce, but he loves the couple involved.  God still says homosexuality is an abomination, but he loves the ones who are living the lifestyle. God still says if you are lusting in your mind it is just like committing the act, but he still loves the one who is doing it. This is a new year. Stop deceiving yourselves. Stop letting the devil deceive you. And stop letting people who are living sinful lives tell you that your life is ok. Measure it against the word of God and let his truth reveal the sin in your life, This year purpose in your heart to let your light shine in dark places and stop being the darkness in a place full of light.

I Won’t Go Back!

no-turning-back

Everyone is making resolutions to do something new or not to do something old in 2015. People are looking to change for the better. Some are even saying, “I won’t go back.” I began to think about this phrase as well as a song I like to listen to called, “I won’t go back.” In order to not go back, you first have to have left somewhere behind. Some people are in the same place that they were in 2013. Some people have the same mindset. If it is the end of 2014 and you are just as miserable as you were at the end of 2013, you have not made the necessary changes to move forward. How can you expect to have a positive mind when you watch filth on tv all day? How can you have a loving spirit when you meditate on seeking revenge. How can you elevate in Christ when you have not developed a relationship with him? We think we have done something magnificent because we get up and go to church. We think if we pray a little bit our life should be perfect. Well, I have a newsflash for you. Church people are going to hell too. God expects us to let go of carnal, worldly thins and draw closer to him.

Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

If you really don’t want to go back to your old self make sure you are new. There are some things that God will do for you and some things you have to decide to do on your own. Don’t start this next year off with a lie. Don’t make a resolution and then not keep it. Live it day by day. Start today. Whatever your flaw is, work on it diligently. Don’t quit until you have reached your goal. Then you can look around and say, “I won’t go back.” Happy New Year’s to everyone. I am signing off until the 1st. I will let you know how wonderful our New Year’s Eve service was and all of the lives that were truly changed. I have come way to far to even think about going back. “I won’t go back!”

The Perfect Christmas Gift!

There are so many things that you can give as a Christmas gift. The greatest gift of all has already been given to the world and that is Jesus Christ. Hopefully you have already received his gift of salvation. Now if you are looking for a gift that would offer someone hope this Christmas than you should give someone “Women in the Waiting.” This book has spoken to women all over the world. They have spent many nights crying and discouraged feeling like there is no hope in their unequally yoked marriage. This book will not only encourage them, but give them the tools to endure the trials and draw closer to God. I have received testimonies from many women and they have testified that this book explained so much of what they were feeling and going through.

Absolutely wonderful book! Tamika Brown does an awesome job of sharing her story of God, love and marriage! She keeps it real and uses scripture as reference to what she’s taking about. I’m glad to have read it, you will not be disappointed! It will definitely help you reevaluate yourself and your walk with God to help save yourself and your marriage. It’s good to have someone share their story so you know your not alone. Its a must read!

If you know anyone who is unequally yoked, believe me this book is a perfect Christmas gift. If you know any single women, this book will make them think twice about marrying unequally yoked. We know that all things are possible with God, but it won’t be necessary if you wait on God for the right mate. Please gift this book to someone. They will be so glad you did. And if you need it, get it! You can find it on www.amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Westbow Press. My husband and I have been married 20+ years and it was only God who made that possible. Please share this blog and this inspirational book. Thank you for your support and be encouraged.
