Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth but….

How many times have we heard, “Get out of your feelings?” Our feelings will fail us every time. We get angry and blow up. We get sad and go into depression. We get frustrated and give up. There is no victory in our flesh. As Psalms tells us, our flesh and heart will fail, BUT GOD! Who needs a “BUT GOD” this morning? God is the strength of your heart. When you look back at situations and can’t figure out how you survived that one, know that it was only because of God. He is your portion. Portion is not the whole thing, it’s a part. He is the missing parts in your life. Let him fill the void and be your strength. You are guaranteed to be made whole. We will all have down times in our life, but we have to choose to experience them in a better way. So, get your day started with a “portion” of God. You need a portion here, a portion there, after a while you will be filled with his love, joy, peace and all of the wonderful attributes of who he is. I hope this encouraged someone today.

Late Night Struggles!

Dont-compare-your-struggles-500x530

I was sitting here listening to a little worship and a thought crossed my mind. So many people struggle in their minds late at night. They have nothing but time to think and meditate on some of everything and absolutely nothing. Unknowingly, it is not always just you and your mind. The enemy, who we call Satan, is around and influencing your very thoughts, especially late at night. He knows that no one else is around to help keep you focused. He knows that the thoughts he put in your mind will be too shameful for you to confess. He wants to cloud your thoughts with negativity and impure thoughts and cause you to commit sin or just give up on life. Don’t give room to the devil. Open up your bible and renew your mind with the Word of God. Rebuke the thoughts that mislead you and try to captivate your mind. Temptations will come, but it doesn’t become sin until you give in. Refuse to turn on the TV and watch perverted shows. Refuse to pick up the phone and call that old boyfriend or girlfriend you used to fornicate with. Refuse to go out to the club for one last time. Refuse to entertain suicidal thoughts. Your life is worth far more than the million tears you have already cried. God is reaching out to somebody tonight and letting you know that he loves you. Start fresh tonight!

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

We always quote, “resist the devil and he will flee,” but the first part of it is submit to God. One of three things will control you, your flesh, the devil, or God. Your flesh includes your mind. The devil is the prince of this world and is doing exactly what he chooses to do with it. God is Lord and ruler of all powers in earth as well as heaven. Submit to God first and the rest will fall in line. You don’t have to ever be alone. God is with you. He will keep you if you will let him. I pray that you overcome tonight and God keeps you in the midst of your struggles. You are more than a conqueror, so be victorious in Jesus’ name!

It’s Okay To Relax

relax

The next time something bad happens in your life, immediately ask yourself, “What can I do to fix it?” If there is something within your reach and within your power to fix the situation, then by all means do it. If there is nothing you can do, just smile. Look up to heaven and say, “Lord, there is nothing I can do about it, but I know you can.” Thank him and go on with the rest of your day. It is perfectly okay to be at peace when the situation dictates that you should flip out. Decide to have a peaceful day. Find some time to relax while God is working on your behalf.

We Have Work To Do!

6c1651151add089d1149567655259903I have been thinking about God and how many people in the world believe in God. The troublesome thought was how the same people don’t believe his word. Many people go to church and have heard the word, but there is a thin line between hearing the truth and knowing the truth. Just because you hear it doesn’t mean you know it. Sadly, that is the state that many people are in. They believe in God, have read or heard his word, but have not accepted it as truth. People of God, we have such a great task ahead of us. We cannot be discouraged by those who reject the word. We can’t be angry because people don’t want to hear the word. The only thing we are responsible for is living the word, teaching the truth, and loving with an unconditional love. Once you release the word of truth, trust God’s plan and watch him work.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

When God sends his word out, it will accomplish the mission it is sent to do. We just get anxious because we don’t see the results right away. God does not bluff. He speaks and it is so. So, while you are on your mission at work, at school or even in the grocery store…release the word that God gives you. It may be something simple like, “Jesus loves you.” If he sends you with a word, something is going to happen.

The flip-side of it is, you have to be sure that God sent the word. Just because you see something wrong doesn’t mean you are the one who is sent to correct it. It doesn’t mean that when you see it, that moment is the right time for action. We need to always be in prayer and communion with the father and wait for accurate instructions in order to be effective. Jesus did everything at the appointed time. Even when Lazarus was sick, he didn’t rush to his bedside, although he had the power to heal him. He stayed on his course and at the appointed time he showed up and his ministry was effective. Lazarus was raised from the dead. Don’t be in such a hurry to point out people’s sins, and criticize their ways. Let God direct you so that when you release the word, the word will heal and deliver them.

Psalms 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

And one last thing! God’s word is very simple. You don’t have to add or take anything away from it. It clearly states several listings of what is sin in our lives.

1Cor 6:9-10 NLT Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

The bible clearly tells is we can’t live in these things and inherit the kingdom. The message is very clear. You don’t have to threaten people because they are doing any of these things. You have to let people live the way that they choose to but let them know what the word says about it. If they don’t accept the truth, they will reap the consequences of their actions. The bible also tells us to restore those who make a mistake, not those who are living in sin. If you are choosing to live in sin, the wages of sin is death.(Rom 6:23)  If you make a mistake then repent and your brothers and sisters in Christ should help you get back on track.

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

In order to restore someone, it takes someone who is spiritual. If you are full of yourself, your anger, and your personal opinions you are not in the proper state of mind to restore anyone. You will bring them down and cause them to be more damaged then they already are. While you are busy telling them about themselves, you might find yourself in the listing below.

Galatians 5:19-21 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

We have to be careful to consider our flaws while ministering to others because we could fall into the same things. We all have a responsibility to live the best that we know how. The more we read our word and develop a relationship with God, the more he will reveal the sin in our lives. And for those of us who live in sinful ways every and have not accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, I just pray that you will hear God and accept his word as truth and repent. He will change the way you view your life, your lifestyle, and he will change your final destination. Saints, get rid of your old mindset and take on the mind of Christ. We have work to do!!

I Won’t Go Back!

no-turning-back

Everyone is making resolutions to do something new or not to do something old in 2015. People are looking to change for the better. Some are even saying, “I won’t go back.” I began to think about this phrase as well as a song I like to listen to called, “I won’t go back.” In order to not go back, you first have to have left somewhere behind. Some people are in the same place that they were in 2013. Some people have the same mindset. If it is the end of 2014 and you are just as miserable as you were at the end of 2013, you have not made the necessary changes to move forward. How can you expect to have a positive mind when you watch filth on tv all day? How can you have a loving spirit when you meditate on seeking revenge. How can you elevate in Christ when you have not developed a relationship with him? We think we have done something magnificent because we get up and go to church. We think if we pray a little bit our life should be perfect. Well, I have a newsflash for you. Church people are going to hell too. God expects us to let go of carnal, worldly thins and draw closer to him.

Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

If you really don’t want to go back to your old self make sure you are new. There are some things that God will do for you and some things you have to decide to do on your own. Don’t start this next year off with a lie. Don’t make a resolution and then not keep it. Live it day by day. Start today. Whatever your flaw is, work on it diligently. Don’t quit until you have reached your goal. Then you can look around and say, “I won’t go back.” Happy New Year’s to everyone. I am signing off until the 1st. I will let you know how wonderful our New Year’s Eve service was and all of the lives that were truly changed. I have come way to far to even think about going back. “I won’t go back!”
