Ready, Set, Go!

Get up and do it today! Whatever your “it” is, start now. Go for a a short walk. Clean out your closet. Start writing that book. Drink water instead of juice. Pray for a few minutes. Read at least one scripture. We all have a desire to achieve something in our life. It will NEVER happen if you don’t begin. We get discouraged because we don’t see results quick enough. Don’t be in a rush to see results. Just focus on taking the first step. Even if it takes all year to accomplish it, slow progress is better than no progress. Stop making excuses and start making it happen. Ready, Set , Go!

Keep on Moving! Happy Friday!

I read something today that said,

“You can throw in the towel or you can use it to wipe the sweat off your face.”

These are such powerful words. We all have a choice in life. We can keep going until we achieve what we desire or we can quit. We live in a time where we are afforded so many opportunities to be and to achieve greatness. In spite of the roadblocks, stereo types, and even discrimination…. anything is possible. Keep pushing to reach your goals. It may cost you money, tears, sweat, and blood, but don’t throw in the towel. Wipe your face and keep on moving.

Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

The Choice is Yours!

If you believe it, yif-you-want-your-life-to-change-your-choices-must-change-and-today-is-the-best-day-of-your-life-to-beginou will receive it! How unfortunate it is that many don’t believe. If you are waiting on God to change a situation on your behalf, believe that it will be done. When there is absolutely is no possible way that it can work out, that is an opportune time for God to get the glory out of your life. For some reason, we seem to think that our circumstance is unique. We somehow  think we have a different set of guidelines to follow just because we are in a particular situation. God’s word does not change based on the person, the doubt, or even the situation. His word is true and remains the same. We have to stop choosing to believe a lie. We can have and can do everything the bible tells us we can as long as we are born again, and obeying his word. The word still works! There is power in the name of Jesus! There is hope in Jesus Christ! There is power in his word! And yet, you choose not to believe. Notice I said choose. We decide how we want to feel each day. We can decide to focus on the negative or focus on the positive. We can decide to complain or rejoice. We can decide to believe or not believe. If you are in a bad mood, you choose to be. If you are are walking around defeated, you choose to be. We can choose life or death every time we are faced with a situation. But whatever we choose, will not move God out of position. He is still on the throne with all power in his hands, waiting on you to choose him. Will you change the way you think today? Will you choose to believe? Will you choose to make today the beginning of better days in your life. The choice is yours!

The Cute Little Fox Is Destroying Your Vineyard!

We spend a lot of time focusing on the big things and it’s the cute little innocent things that are destroying our lives. When God speaks to you and tells you to cut something out of your life, do it right away. Don’t hesitate. Don’t rationalize it. Don’t entertain it another day. There is a reason God is telling you to get it out of your life. In this picture, the little foxes look so cute, but the longer they stay in the vineyard, the more damage they will cause. They could destroy one little bunch of grapes or an entire vineyard. When you don’t respond to God’s instructions for your life, it is then called disobedience. Disobedience is sin and the wages of sin is death. I don’t know too many people who are willing to pay that price for a little disobedience.

Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Like the scripture says, we claim to know God, but deny him in our actions. Let’s stop giving God lip service and start serving him with all that we have. Remember, your convictions are your convictions. If he told you to stop wearing certain clothes, stop watching certain shows, stop hanging around certain people, or stop eating certain foods- walk in obedience and let it go. (Speaking from experience) The word of God speaks specifically on some things. Our convictions cover everything else that we are not sure of.

Phil 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Obedience is so much better than sacrifice. If you don’t obey his instructions you are going to sacrifice far more than you are willing to and far more than you can afford to give up. Stop looking at everything like it is innocent. Remember, Satan is not going to come to you with flashing lights and sirens announcing that what you are doing is sin. He is going to come subtly and incognito looking like a cute little fox. And before you know it, that cute little fox is destroying your vineyard and eventually your life. Heed the voice of God and continue to grow in his grace. Be encouraged and keep the faith!

Take Some Time For You!

You have been taking care of everyone and everything. Take some time to take care of you. You can only give out what you already have. Wouldn’t it be nice to be filled up with love, joy, peace, happiness, rest, and the goodness of Jesus Christ and in return you can share that with someone else.

Matt 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

When you don’t take care of you, you are not showing yourself love. Love is an action word. Do something for you so you can genuinely do something for someone else. Let this Friday be the beginning of a weekend retreat. You don’t have to spend a dime. Just rest, get in the presence of God read his word, and do something you love. You will be surprised at the type of witness you will become.Have a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Be Blessed!
