Look Up to God!

look-up-117There are so many things that we do not understand and we cannot explain, but God knows all about it. Find peace in knowing God is in control. His expectations are great. Everything you are facing today will lead to his purpose for tomorrow. Remember to look up. God knows everything.

Finish Strong!

Many have been hit with some unexpected blows withing the last 3 months. Some of you are so over 2018 that it is not even funny. Let me encourage you, God is not limited by or even moved by time. He is time. We have a few more weeks left in December, don’t check out of December too early. There is plenty of time for a turn around. Stay focused. Finish what you have started. Most of all, finish strong!! We got this! I am making this a December to remember regardless of what circumstances may say, and you should too. FINISH STRONG!

Be Still and Know!

be-still

Sometimes the simplest thing to do is the most difficult.  We are a people who like to busy ourselves to avoid dealing with our issues and avoid seeing who we really are. Take a moment to step back and wait on God. Let him reveal his mysteries to you. Let him show you more about you. Trust and know that he is God. His way is his will. God is speaking. God is moving. God is working. Be still and know that he is God,

Love Them for Who They Are!

I know I am preaching to the choir. How many times have you stuck with a friend because you knew they would be someone amazing once they healed from all that hurt. What about the person you are married to now, the potential was there while you were dating, but they never reached it. Stop setting yourself up for disappointment and being unfair to the people in your life. Love them for who they are right now. If they never change, your love should remain. People are far from perfect, and you have a choice in who you choose to keep in your life. But…..if you keep them and you know they aren’t quite there yet, love them just the way they are. Otherwise, set them free and let someone who can be a genuine friend to them, take it from there. You cannot love who you hope they will become because that person may never show up.

Don’t Forget to Love Yourself!

Dont-forget-to-love-yourself.-Quote-by-Søren-KierkegaardWhy is it so important to love you? Love is an action word. When we love someone, we will take care of them. We will make sure they are ok. We will give them what they need. How can we offer a love that we simply do not have. God desires that we are whole. We need to be emotionally, physically, and spiritually healthy to live the way God wants us to live. Once we have these things for our self, it is so much easier to give them to someone else. Take some time to take care of you. It is perfectly ok. In fact, it is necessary. You are worthy of love, and others are worthy of receiving the love you have to offer.

The Mind of Christ!

Philippians-2-5

Renewing our thoughts is an everyday occurrence. We should all have the mind of Christ. We strive to have the mind to show love, forgiveness, kindness, and such but what about the mind to endure suffering. We must take on every attribute of Christ, not just the ones that make us look good. It looks good to give something to someone who doesn’t have, but suffering is ugly. It hurts. It is shameful. It is wrapped up in all sorts of emotions. Lord, let us accept everything that comes with the journey we are on. For our weak areas, please be our strength. Most of all, Lord, give us the mind to endure hardness as a good soldier.  Lord, we need you. We need the mind of Christ!

Always Worth the Wait!

Very few have the testimony of how they waited on God for a godly mate. I don’t even have that testimony. Neither one of us were saved in the beginning, but the wait after that was well worth it. A godly marriage is rare. People are being catfished. People are impatient. More people need to be willing to wait on God to put their marriage together. I know it seems long, but the wait will be nothing compared to how long it will last. Waiting on God is ALWAYS worth the wait.
