When God’s Will Does Not Match Your Wants!

You say you want God’s will for your life, but what if God’s will doesn’t look like what you want? Will you choose to accept his will for your life or not? If you want God’s will for you life you have to be willing to accept it. You have to accept it and everything that comes with it or everything that leaves with it. For example, if he calls you into ministry, you cannot accept all the praise and position without accepting the heartache and disappointments. If he gives you a specific job but you don’t like the your coworkers, realize they are a part of the whole package. He will use them to grow you, shape you, and teach you agape love. If he sends you a mate but they are missing elements that you had on your little list, but have everything you need, would you accept them? Oftentimes, we have requests that we desire and feel like if something doesn’t meet our standard, we are settling. I am all about making your requests known and don’t settle for anything less than what you want….but at the end of the day, what if what you want is not a part of God’s will for you? Definitely ask, but give yourself time to hear what God says about it. What looks good to you may not be good for you. It is important to pray God’s will in our life, but it is more important to accept his will. Want what he wills even if it is not what you want. Lord, your will be done!

Curse Words

When we lack confidence and feel bad about our self, it is so easy to remove our self from the game. Our mind says we won’t be able to succeed so why try? Our mind says, let me do something to get taken out of the game before they realize I can’t perform the task. We kill our own victory with a defeated mind set. If you don’t believe you can, you won’t. Build up your confidence by succeeding in the small things first. Find something you have been wanting to do for years but never got started. Write down every excuse that you can think of that will stop you from starting and finishing. Label that paper “Curse Words.” These are the words you can no longer use when attempting to achieve your goal. Do not curse yourself anymore. Write a separate list with blessed words of affirmation. Here are a few examples:

  • CURSE WORD
  • I don’t have the money
  • I’m tired
  • I don’t know where to begin
  • I’m too scared
  • BLESSED WORD
  • God will supply all my need
  • The joy of the Lord is my strength
  • If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
  • For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

And there are so many more. Get up from your place of do nothing. It is time to do something. Faith without works is dead. So, we need to have to have a renewed mind and a little bit of faith. Change your mind, change your words, and change your outcome. Stop cursing yourself and start blessing yourself! Let’s get it!

Friday Forgive Day!

You may never get the apology you desire. You may never get the reason why. What you can get is called free. Free yourself from bitterness and unhealthy emotions. Free yourself from the repetitive thoughts of what they did. Don’t give them that kind of power over your life. Take control of your destiny and your thoughts today. Forgive them as God has forgiven you!
