The Will of God

THE WILL

So many people say they want to be in the will of God. Sometimes, you may feel unclear about what you believe God is saying in certain areas of your life. Do you pray for what you want or do you pray and ask God to let his will be done in your life? I have learned to pray for the will of God because it causes everything about your life to line up. It even causes my mindset to change. If God has planned something for me and I find myself resisting, I start to pray his will. He then begins to soften my heart, change my mind, and even my desires. I begin to conform to his will for my life. There is no safer place than in the will of God and that is right where you want to be. So if there are things God is requiring of you and you are having a hard time saying yes, begin to pray his will and watch things fall into place. No one can resist the will of God when the will of God is your prayer and his answer.

Treat Yourself!

have_a_great_weekend_roses_graphic_7944202250

The weekend is finally here. You have spent all week making a paycheck. You have spent all week running your children back and forth to all of their school activities. You have given your all to everyone around you. Take a moment to treat yourself. Turn off everything and exhale. Buy yourself a cute shirt or a pair of shoes. Go get a bagel and cream cheese. Whatever you do, remember to take care of you. Have a wonderful weekend!

Ready, Set, Go!

Get up and do it today! Whatever your “it” is, start now. Go for a a short walk. Clean out your closet. Start writing that book. Drink water instead of juice. Pray for a few minutes. Read at least one scripture. We all have a desire to achieve something in our life. It will NEVER happen if you don’t begin. We get discouraged because we don’t see results quick enough. Don’t be in a rush to see results. Just focus on taking the first step. Even if it takes all year to accomplish it, slow progress is better than no progress. Stop making excuses and start making it happen. Ready, Set , Go!

“Haters”

024Christians spend a lot of time acknowledging “haters” in their lives. They are always living to prove their “haters” wrong. They live to say, “Look at me now.” If everything you do is based on proving something to someone who apparently hates you, you are giving them way too much control in your life. You are constantly thinking about what they think about you. You are always wondering what they are saying about you. You are making them an idol god in your life. It shows signs of insecurities in your life. You are also allowing that little sneaky thing called pride validate your success instead of allowing God the opportunity to exalt you. How can God get the glory out of your life if pride is the source of your motivation? Pride is puffed up. Pride has to prove a point. Pride got kicked out of heaven many years ago. Pride surely will bring you down as quick as it has lifted you up.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Don’t focus on those who hate you because no matter who you are and what you accomplish, there will always be at least one you can consider a “hater.” So, continue to be you and be true! Keep God as your focus and exalt Him instead of exalting your “haters.” Stay humble and watch God prove who he says he is and who he says you are. All glory belongs to God!

Bad Day, Bad Life? or Great Day, Great Life!

snapshot-1915-529-pm

No one really breaks life down by the day. We usually have long weeks, busy months and then some. But if you think about it, your life is made up of every day that you live. Why spend an entire day depressed and crying? If you do, eventually your life will become a sad and depressed life. If you wake up with joy and thanks for life, health, and strength, your joyful day will become a joyful life. Choose how you will live your life by changing how you spend your days. Think about what you will do today and how you choose to act and react to situations. Today could literally be the beginning of the best days of a better life. You have a choice! So, have a great day and especially a great life!

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:

Stop Comparing Yourself With Others!

be-confident

This is one of the biggest struggles in our lives. We are always aiming to do better and be better, but who are we comparing ourselves to? When you see athletes who win gold medals and teams with championships, do you know how much time they have sacrificed to earn those awards? When you see successful artists and CEO’s do you know what efforts they have put forth to achieve greatness? Of course not. All you know is they are successful. But you do know what you are doing and what you have done. Compare yourself to you. Are you better than you were last week? Are you exercising more than you were last month. Are you loving more than you were last year? Are you more spiritual today than you were yesterday? You are your greatest competition, your toughest critic, your best cheerleader, and your greatest key to your success. You make the difference in your life. Figure out where you want to be and what you want to do and start taking steps towards it. Pray and believe God that it will happen. Let him order your steps along the way. Most of all remember, you can never achieve someone else’s victory because it’s theirs. Be true to who you are, what you are capable of, and know your weaknesses and strengths. Compete with yourself and you will be a success every time.
