Don’t Worry!

Presentation3

How in the world am I going to fix this situation? What if I don’t have enough money to pay that bill next week. My job is only temporary, what am I going to do? Who’s going to take care of my mom while I am at work?

There are so many things in life that overwhelm us everyday. It’s no wonder many people are having nervous break downs. We have to learn how to live each day on that day, not in advance. The only time you should want to want to do something in advance is when you are praying and praising. God does not want us to worry about anything. He says that he will supply all of our needs. The problem we have is we don’t trust him enough to leave it in his hands or we don’t believe that he will do it.

We have a choice every day. We can let God be God or we can try to be God. With the limitations that we have, I would suggest the first option. The key to trusting God is living by his word and walking by faith. Oftentimes, your faith will allow you to be at the end of the road where it looks like there is no hope. But just in the nick of time, God will step in if you wait to see the miracle.

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Abide in his word and not in your worry. Know that even though it seems impossible, with God all things are possible! The only way you will ever find out if God’s word works is to actually try it. Try him and see, he won’t let you down. If I could sing a song right now, the words would simply say this:

He won’t let you down. He won’t let you down. He wouldn’t lift you up, to let you down.

Be encouraged,

The Things We Resist Persist

Sometimes there are minor changes that would make such a major difference when it comes to our happiness. I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is that keeps me from doing them. Here is a perfect example and I am almost embarrassed to share it.

For weeks now I have been going to bed pretty aggravated. For whatever reason, the feather comforter is on the bed upside down. I know this because when I cozy myself to the exact place I like to snuggle up with my pillow, there is a tag waiting to stick in my face. I just simply pull the covers over until it is out of my way. Enter husband. Sometime, after I am long asleep, my husband comes to bed. He too wants some covers, so when he pulls them over himself that annoying little tag ends up you know where…

A Moment of Reflection

While I was on the airplane, I thought about the preparation before the take off. Everyone has to be seated with seatbelts fastened. All carry on luggage has to be properly stored. Electronis off. Seats upright. They go through the same safety briefing on every flight. It seems like such a long, slow process to get ready for take off. Then the plane slowly drives around the runway until it is in position and awaits its turn for take off. Then all of a sudden, it moves forward full speed and is soaring in the air in a matter of seconds.
This is how our Christian journey feels sometimes. We do all of this studying, praying, fasting, and preparing for God to move in our lives. We have to put things in order, let go of dead weight, and wait until our turn for the blessing. It is important for us to get in position and be ready to take off in an instant. Your situation can go from preparation to take off, just like that!
Don’t be discouraged if it seems like the preparation period is long. It will only lead to a good take off and a comfortable flight. Be encouraged and wait on God. This too shall pass.
